Vanilla
Vanilla is one of the most beloved notes in perfume. It is comforting and luxurious at the same time, and the foundation of almost all gourmand scents and many oriental compositions.
How vanilla smells in perfume
Real vanilla comes from the fermented pods of the vanilla orchid and smells warm, sweet, and slightly smoky. In niche perfume, vanilla shows many faces, from creamy and pastry-like to dry, woody, boozy, or almost leathery. It pairs beautifully with coconut, coffee, tobacco, sandalwood, and jasmine.
