Bergamot
Bergamot is the most elegant form of citrus. The fruit is primarily grown in Calabria in southern Italy and is the same scent that gives Earl Grey tea its character.
How bergamot smells in perfume
Bergamot smells fresh and slightly bitter with a floral, tea-like note. It is most often used in the top notes of a perfume to give the opening radiance, and it is the foundation of classic eau de cologne and chypre fragrances. It pairs beautifully with neroli, vetiver, cedarwood, and oakmoss.
