With a Franco-Lebanese background and based in Beirut, perfumer Nour Akoum has followed her sensitive nose since childhood. From an early age, she was able to distinguish and describe scents with striking precision. After studying chemistry, she took the step towards her dream and started at ISIPCA in Paris, where she refined her craft and discovered the creative power of the sense of smell. This was followed by experiences in France, the Netherlands and Italy, before returning to Lebanon to establish her own independent perfume lab.
Grano is her tribute to a Parisian morning after rain. Imagine shiny sidewalks reflecting a golden light, and an air heavy with the scent of rain and the irresistible aroma of the nearby boulangerie. As you walk there, you are met with the scent of dough and the warmth of melted butter, like a slow climb towards the safe embrace of freshly baked bread. The atmosphere is both dense and bright, and it makes you want to stop, draw all the air in through your nose and enjoy. When the morning humidity on the street finally lifts, the bread emerges fragrant.
