Mariner's Rhyme is a marine chypre with drama and sharpness. It opens coolly with citrus, ozone and lavender, where elemi gives a resinous, peppery note that prevents it from being a classic aquatic scent. The heart contains orange blossom and an animalic iris feel that gives the scent body. The base of ambergris, oakmoss, musk, patchouli and incense makes the whole darker and more contemplative, like salty skin under a stylish wool coat.
A perfect perfume for rainy days, trench coats and walks when you want a scent that gives elegance and a sophisticated feel and for evenings when you want to smell fresh, but with depth and a little blackness beneath the surface.
