Agaressence is a niche perfume for those who want oud in the lead role, with an opening that still has sharpness and clarity. It starts with saffron and dark fruit. Cassis and plum add fullness, but the whole feels more spicy than sweet. After a while, the florals emerge: tuberose, rose and ylang-ylang give the scent body and make it more deep, without losing its tight line. As it settles, it becomes denser and smokier. Oud and gurjun balsam give that warm, resinous weight, and cypriol and jatamansi give a dry, rooty note. Amyris and sandalwood round it out, and civet gives a clear, animalic note that makes the scent more evening than day.
